The Allstate Minority and Women Emerging Entrepreneurs program creates opportunities for individuals leading minority-owned and women-owned enterprises into advanced stages of development.
For current owners of early-stage technology and life science companies, High-Tech CEL offers the opportunity to learn from
established entrepreneurs, business experts and industry insiders, such as angel investors and venture capitalists. The CEL partners with UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences to offer entrepreneurial
and industry-specific guest speakers, workshops and classes.
The Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition was created by the UB School of Management and the UB
Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach. Funded with a $1 million endowment from the late Henry A.
Panasci Jr., the program is designed to bring undergraduate and graduate-level students from science, technology, business
and other disciplines together to maximize their potential to create viable businesses in Western New York.

In addition to the standard entrepreneurial toolbox, family businesses often need help managing the unique challenges that
arise when family members work together. Leadership development, generational perspectives and succession planning are
a specific focus of our programs. The CEL also offers competency workshops specific to family business enterprises.
