The Master of Science in Finance (MS Finance) program will provide you with the strong analytical skills, academic training and practical tools that financial market employers are seeking in their ideal candidates.

Seize Your Opportunity

The MS Finance program is flexible to your needs: you may opt for either a fall or spring start. Most students finish the program in three semesters. You may opt to stay longer to extend and customize your educational timeline. If you are a UB undergraduate, you may be able to finish in as few as two semesters.

The MS Finance program incorporates the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) curriculum, providing you with membership in the Buffalo CFA chapter, resources for you to prepare for the CFA exam, special review sessions and participation in the CFA research challenge.

Wall Street Ready

With a Bloomberg terminal on site and hands-on training of Bloomberg Essentials and related skills, you will be productive from day one in your career.

CFA Recognition

The MS Finance program incorporates the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) curriculum, providing students with membership in the Buffalo CFA chapter, resources for you to prepare for the CFA exam, special review sessions and participation in the CFA research challenge.

Success

All majors are welcome to apply; however, business, math, economics and engineering majors are ideally suited to the program.

For International Students

UB’s MS Finance qualifies as a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program in Financial Mathematics, which provides an additional 24 months Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 visa holders who began the program in fall 2016 or later, or graduate in February 2017 or later.
