Prosperity Fellowship application open for School of Management students

Release Date: November 5, 2015

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sophomores, juniors, seniors and MBA students in the University at Buffalo School of Management may apply now for the Western New York Prosperity Fellowship program.

All fellows for the 2016-17 academic year will receive a paid summer internship, as well as scholarship support up to $25,000 based on the student’s unmet financial need. Fellows will also receive many professional development opportunities, including complimentary membership in several local networking groups and access to programming and seminars exclusively for their cohort.

Established by the Prentice Family Foundation in 2009, the program assists students who are actively preparing for careers that further economic development and growth, particularly in the Western New York region. Prosperity fellows must commit to working in the region for at least two of the ten years following their graduation.

The 2015 class of fellows includes 34 UB students, 14 of whom are enrolled in the School of Management.

Applications are due Feb. 5, 2016. To be eligible, applicants must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or MBA students with strong academic performance, and must complete the 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline.

Information sessions will be held at 17 Norton Hall on UB's North Campus on the following dates: Nov. 5 at 1 and 6 p.m., Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 19 at noon.
