Meet the Philanthropy Team

Amy M. Johnson
Senior Annual Giving Officer

Amy joined the School of Management after serving as chief development officer at Girl Scouts of Western New York. She has held marketing and fundraising positions with Canisius College, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Brookgreen Gardens. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia in English with a concentration in public relations.

As associate director of development, Amy is responsible for the School of Management’s annual giving activities and building its leadership gift society, the Shareholder’s Society.

Beth A. Ranney
Philanthropy Coordinator

Beth is a graduate of Medaille College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in media communications. She has held directorship positions in public relations, marketing and development in the health, human services and educational sectors.

As development coordinator, Beth coordinates the stewardship program, manages endowment, scholarship and award gifts, and develops gift proposals and summary impact pieces.

Barbara A. Mielcarek
Administrative Assistant

Barbara joined the School of Management after serving as plant clerk at NRG Energy’s Huntley Power Plant. Prior to NRG, she worked at Niagara County Community College in the Department of Corporate Training and the Office of Information Technology Services. In the private sector, she has experience in sales, operational planning, marketing, and product forecasting and development. Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree from the UB School of Management with a concentration in marketing.

As administrative assistant, Barbara is responsible for supporting the School of Management team as well as working collaboratively with development and alumni staff in university services and across the division.
