Our team is proud to help provide students with the opportunity to participate in collaborative experiential learning programs that help defray the cost of summer internship tuition.
The Prentice Family Foundation’s Western New York Prosperity Fellowship Program is a truly unique program for undergraduate and graduate students with an entrepreneurial drive who want to make a difference in Western New York. Each fellow is awarded up to $25,000 in scholarship and internship support for an academic year, based on demonstrated financial need. If you are interested in applying, visit the WNY Prosperity Fellows web page for more information.
Through UB's Social Impact Fellows program, students from the School of Management, School of Social Work and College of Arts and Sciences spend the summer learning about and creating social innovation in Western New York. Presented in collaboration with the Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars at UB, the program brings together MBA, MSW and College of Arts and Sciences graduate students for an internship at a mission-driven organization, where they collaborate to address pressing social issues and make an impact.
The program has received philanthropic support from the Charles D. and Mary A. Bauer Family Foundation, the School of Management Alumni Association, the UB President’s Circle and several generous alumni and friends of the university.
The Nonprofit Board Fellowship (NBF) introduces MBA students to the intrinsic value of board service, through a foundational curriculum that blends the concepts of social impact, servant leadership and professional development, combined with an academic year of service as a board member intern with a local nonprofit organization. The aim of the NBF is to develop a diverse group of informed, community-oriented leaders who understand the importance of good governance; and are both prepared and motivated to serve the WNY nonprofit community.
The Nonprofit Board Fellowship is a fully-funded collaborative program facilitated by the School of Management’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (CLOE), and the Internships and Experiential Learning program in the Career Resource Center. Initially launched in summer 2020, future phases of this program will seek to partner with additional schools across UB.
