Alumni: Share your career path with students

Alumni volunteers wanted for virtual Sophomore Information Night

As our alumni know, a School of Management accounting degree can open doors to fulfilling and diverse career paths.

Our graduates leverage their skills, experiences and credentials to succeed in a variety of sectors and organizations, from the Big Four and major banks, to CPA firms, industry-leading companies and government agencies.

The Accounting and Law Department’s annual Sophomore Information Night showcases the many career opportunities available to accountants with a School of Management degree. This year’s event will be held virtually due to the coronavirus—and we’d like your help to make the evening a success.

During the event, sophomores who are considering accounting can learn more about the program, including the value of the 4+1 BS Accounting/MS Accounting program and our stellar employment results.

Last year, we were thankful to the following alumni who shared their career paths during an in-person panel discussion or networked with students informally throughout the evening.

  • Kelsey Gasiorczyk, BS ’13, MS ’14, senior internal auditor at Rich Products
  • Kole Gilchrist, BS ’17, MS ’18, audit senior associate at Deloitte
  • Briana Janson, BS ’16, MS ’17, cost analyst at Moog Aircraft
  • Rita Leibensperger, MS ’14, tax manager at Friedman LLP
  • Marcos Manunta, BS ’10, manager, global process owner of invoice-to-pay at New Era Cap Co.
  • Nicholas Ortiz, BS ’17, MS ’18, senior corporate financial reporting analyst at Moog Inc.
  • Andrew Peer, BS ’06, vice president, controller at ACV Auctions
  • Mike Schaffstall, BS ’90, partner at CTBK

Join us virtually on Feb. 9, 2021

This year’s Sophomore Information Night will be held Feb. 9, 2021, via Zoom, allowing students and alumni to safely connect from anywhere in the world.

If you are an alumnus willing to talk with students about your UB experience and your unique career path, we invite you to be part of the event. For more information, contact Ian Tarrant, clinical assistant professor of accounting and law, at iantarra@buffalo.edu.
