What is the online Mini MBA Certificate?

The online Mini MBA is a non-credit-bearing, non-degree-bearing course designed and managed by the University at Buffalo School of Management. If you are seeking an opportunity to gain or update your business skills in a variety of management-related areas, this course is ideal for you. The OMMBA program consists of seventeen separate modules that must be successfully completed to receive a certificate of completion. You will work through and complete seventeen separate modules in six individual content areas. You will answer self-cehck exercises as you progress through the modules. After each module, you will complete a series of test questions, where you will need to score a 65% or higher in order to unlock the next module.

How long does the program take to complete?

The length of the program all depends on how much time you devote to the program. You could complete the program in as little as two months time, if you spend a couple of hours a day working through the modules and quizzes. Some of the students take a more casual approach towards the program and take the entire year to complete.  

What is the cost of the program?

A total program fee of $995 USD for participants residing in the continental U.S. covers the program and all shipping costs associated with sending your certificate of completion via United States Postal Service (USPS).

For registrants outside of the continental U.S., a program fee of $1,050 USD covers the program and all shipping costs associated with sending your certificate of completion via United Parcel Service (UPS).

There are no discounts, scholarships nor financial aid available for this program. Payment cannot be made in installments. We do not accept the Montgomery GI Bill. We accept major credit cards; MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

 

When does the program begin?

The program begins daily during the week. You will be granted access into our program once our office receives your complete registration form along with full payment.

Does this program count towards a degree?

You cannot use the title of MMBA or MBA with the completion of this program nor can you use the program toward admission to the University at Buffalo, as the program is a non-credit bearing program that does not appear on any transcript issued from the University at Buffalo. The OMMBA is not accredited by AACSB, however, this program is recognized by the business community as a standard of excellence and accomplishment.

How do I receive my certificate?

You will be able to print a copy of your certificate, along with your grade letter upon successful completion of the program. If you live in the continental U.S., your certificate will also be mailed to you via USPS. If you live outside the continental U.S., your certificate will be sent to you via UPS.

What subjects are included?

The non-credit-bearing program includes content in each of the six subject areas (modules):

Accounting and finance
Marketing and communications
Technology
Human resources
Economics
General management

You must complete each section in the above order before moving on to the next.

How do I advance from one module to another?

You may work through the material at your own pace. Each module consists of self-check questions throughout each module as well as a test at the end of each module. Users must achieve a score of 65 percent or better to advance to the next module.

Where is the program located?

The online Mini MBA Certificate program is hosted on the University at Buffalo secure Web server, a comprehensive and flexible e-learning software platform that delivers the course management system.

Who has access to the program?

To access the online Mini MBA, a user must be authorized by the School of Management through the Center for Executive Development.

When can I access the program?

The online Mini MBA is Web-accessible 24 hours per day, seven days a week. You may access the program anywhere you have access to a computer and the Internet.

What are the computer requirements?

To use this program effectively, you must use a computer that is able to connect to the Internet and use a Web browser.

How do I log in?

We will provide you with a user name and password.
