John F. Dunbar Jr. has more than 25 year of mergers and acquisitions experience as a former principal at Strategic Investments & Holdings Inc., a private equity firm that invests equity capital with operating management teams in acquisitions and recapitalizations. SIHI has successfully completed over 80 acquisitions in diverse manufacturing, distribution and service businesses, involving more than $1.5 billion in financing and aggregating revenue exceeding $6 billion.
Dunbar originated, structured and closed equity investments in leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, plant expansions and new ventures. As an active board member and consultant today, he evaluates financial performance and participates in strategic and financial planning Some examples of his acquisitions include:
A licensed professional engineer since 1988, Dunbar received both his MBA and his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo. His successes allow him to provide valuable insights as an adjunct instructor: finance and managerial economics in our Professional MBA program and, for the past nine years, mergers and acquisitions in our full-time MBA program.
