Incoming EMBA Students

Congratulations on your acceptance into the EMBA program.

Before arriving on campus for your first semester, there are several forms and materials you must submit to join the Class of 2020 and prepare for the program.

Step 1: Let us know you're coming - pay your deposit

We are looking forward to you joining the Executive MBA program. Your first step is to finalize your acceptance and confirm your intent to enroll by paying your non-refundable deposit, which will be applied your first semester tuition.

Step 2: Join the UB community - activate your UBIT account

MyUB is a one-stop online destination for UB students, where you can access the hUB Student Center and find the latest news and events. Once you have your UBITName, person number and one-time use password, you can activate your UBITName account

New Domestic UB Students:
Shortly after you receive an offer of admission, you will be emailed instructions on how to access your UBITName and person number along with instructions for activating your account.

New International UB Students:
You will receive your UBITName and person number 72 hours after the Office of International Admissions has verified your application materials. This may happen days or weeks after you have been accepted depending on the volume at that time of year.

Returning UB Students:
Returning grads and previously accepted applicants will not receive a one-time use password and should contact the CIT Help Desk if you do not remember your old password.

Step 3: Provide us with proof of your immunizations

In accordance with New York State Public Health Law, UB requires that all students (undergraduate, graduate and professional) born on or after January 1, 1957 provide proof of immunity against measles, mumps and rubella. The state also requires that all students receive information about meningococcal disease and have made an informed decision about whether or not to receive immunization against meningococcal disease. UB students will not be allowed to register for classes until they have fulfilled these requirements.

Step 4: Registration

Incoming EMBA students will be registered for their fall classes in early September.

Step 5: Waive your graduate student health insurance

As full-time students, EMBA students automatically have student health insurance applied to their account after registration. If you have health insurance through your employer, you will need to follow the directions on the SBI Insurance website to have your student health insurance waived. This form must be completed each academic year.

Step 6: Update your technology

Once you have activated your UBITName, you gain access to free software, UBmail, networks and other technology resources, both on and off campus. Take advantage of all of the resources and get help with technology problems at http://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/start. All EMBA students will need a laptop with MS Office 2016 loaded onto it for the first weekend of class.

Step 7: Request your parking pass

Parking permits are required on Fridays and parking is strictly monitored. Parking permits can only be ordered online. When you fill out the form, request that the permit be picked up at 106 Spaulding. Please email us at mgt-emba@buffalo.edu when you have requested your parking permit and we will pick it up for you so you can get it at the EMBA orientation registration desk.

Step 8: Billing and financial aid

The hUB Student Center is your self-service online tool for billing, financial aid and viewing your semester course registrations. The UB Executive MBA office will produce an invoice for you each semester. Unless you have applied for a payment plan, your EMBA program fee is due in full on the first day of class each semester. Financial aid forms can be completed online.

Step 9: Accept our rules and regulations

The State University of New York (SUNY) requires all UB students to acknowledge receipt of and affirm our UB Rules and Regulations. You may do this by logging on to the hUB Student Center through MyUB and reviewing your "holds" box. Click on the hold for rules and regulations to see the affirmation screen, where you can view and affirm them. We also recommend reviewing the Graduate School policy library.

Step 10: Orientation

EMBA orientation will be held in September. Attendance is mandatory. There will also be an event for all EMBA incoming and current students that evening, so please plan to spend the whole day with us.

Step 11: Classes and books

EMBA students will receive their course materials, syllabi and deliverables list for the first semester at orientation.
