Network New York

Group of alumni and students connecting at Network New York.

An annual series of student/alumni networking events held in January focused on living and working in New York City.

A collaborative event between the Career Resource Center and the School of Management Alumni Association where alumni and companies speak with small groups of students individually or in panels. Topics may include your company's hiring practices, your career stories, or relevant, specific topics of interest.

Network New York consistently receives rave reviews from both students and alumni.

Panels and Presentations Description
Company Information Session
(recruitment-focused)
Presentation about your specific company including its hiring practices, timetable, expectations, etc. This presentation could be given by one individual or several people at one specific company, including HR.
Career/Functional Panel
2-4 alumni/professionals working in a specified career field from various companies. Each panelist will introduce themself and share their career story. No preparation needed. The majority of time will be spent on student questions. This allows students to explore various areas within one career field.
Individual Topic Presentation
Present on a resolution to a challenge your organization is going through or a career topic you believe would be helpful, such as how to negotiate salary or turn an internship into a full-time offer, etc.
Living and Working in NYC Panel
Interactive presentation from those who have moved to and lived in the Big Apple. Explain the financial, social and logistical aspects of living in NYC, such as how to find a place, how to budget your money, or how to make NYC your home.
Recruiter Panel
HR representatives and hiring managers from any industry share their perspectives and best practices for candidates. What do you really want students to know about the hiring process?  What are your expectations? (Funny stories welcome.)
DE&I Panel (topic TBD)
Previous topic focused on best practices with Affinity Groups (how to create and manage them and their value). But we are open to exploring what you want to discuss.
Virtual Office Tour
Provide students with a virtual view of your space  while talking about your company culture and what makes it unique. This can help students envision their futures. Show us what defines you. Show us how your company’s mission and values are evident in how and where your employees work.
Other (be creative!)
We are always open to trying new formats and new things!
