Treadway Honored with Plesur Award

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Darren Treadway, associate professor of organization and human recourses in the University at Buffalo School of Management, received the Milton Plesur Excellence in Teaching Awards from the undergraduate Student Association on April 20 in the Flag Room of UB’s Student Union.

The award is named for Plesur, a professor in the UB Department of History who died in 1987, and recognizes a faculty member’s commitment to students and quality of teaching.

Since joining the School of Management faculty in 2007, Treadway has taught courses on organizational behavior and human resource management at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

He has published research papers on social skills and organizational support in job performance, bullying in groups and global organizations, and political skills in organizations. In recognition of his superior research achievements, Treadway received the UB Exceptional Scholars Award for Young Investigators in 2009.

Treadway has served as a consultant on issues relating to motivation, turnover, performance, leadership and change for companies in the financial services, retail, hospitality and education industries. He is a member of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Society for Personality and Social Psychology and Southern Management Association.

He has a doctorate in organizational behavior and human resources management from Florida State University and an MBA from Virginia Tech.
