BUFFALO, N.Y. — The deadline is fast approaching for undergraduate and MBA students in the University at Buffalo School of Management to apply for the Western New York Prosperity Fellowship program.

Established by the Prentice Family Foundation in 2009, the fellowship assists students who want to make a difference and further economic development in Western New York.

All 2017-18 fellows will receive a paid summer internship and up to $25,000 in scholarship support based on the student’s unmet financial need. With their cohort, fellows will also participate in networking and enrichment activities to enhance their professional development and soft skills, and receive complimentary membership to several local professional organizations.

School of Management sophomores, juniors, seniors and MBA students are eligible to apply. Undergraduates and graduate students must demonstrate excellent academic performance and complete the 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before the fellowship deadline. Fellows must also commit to working in the region for at least two of the 10 years following their graduation.

Current undergraduate and MBA students must submit their applications by Feb. 27. Applications are due for incoming first-year MBA and MBA dual-degree students by April 1.

The 2016-17 class of Prosperity fellows includes 31 UB students, 11 of whom are enrolled in the School of Management.

The UB School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on real-world learning, community and economic impact, and the global perspective of its faculty, students and alumni.
