“We cannot allow half of the population’s leadership potential to remain untapped, and that is why we must continue to empower and encourage women and girls to pursue a seat at the table to ensure a more just and equitable future. ”
Kathy Hochul, New York State Lieutenant Governor

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York State Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will present “Redefining what leadership looks like at all levels” from 1-2 p.m. on Nov. 27 in the Buffalo Room, 10 Capen Hall on the University at Buffalo North Campus.

Her lecture is part of the Leaders on Leadership Speaker Series, presented by the UB School of Management’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (CLOE).

“As the birthplace of the women’s rights movement, New York State has a unique obligation to ensure that women are provided equal opportunity to ascend to leadership positions,” says Hochul. “One hundred years after New York women secured the right to vote — an important milestone in our history — we continue to grapple with issues like harassment, pay equity and the politicization of our reproductive rights.

“We cannot allow half of the population’s leadership potential to remain untapped, and that is why we must continue to empower and encourage women and girls to pursue a seat at the table to ensure a more just and equitable future.”

The Leaders on Leadership Speakers Series provides practical, cutting-edge leadership insights and stories from top-level leaders for anyone who wants to enrich his or her ability to lead. Previous speakers have included Jeffrey Jacobson, BS ’81, CEO of Xerox Corp., and Judith Vredenburgh, MBA ’75, president and CEO of Girls Inc.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Brandon Glasgow at bdglasgo@buffalo.edu.
