BUFFALO, N.Y. —  Leaders from the business, nonprofit and academic worlds will come together for a conference hosted by the University at Buffalo School of Management’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (CLOE).

Who: Adam Grant, Wharton’s top-rated professor and author of three best-selling leadership books, “Give and Take,” “Originals” and “Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy” (co-authored with Sheryl Sandberg).  His books have sold over a million copies and cover subjects such as how helping others drives our success, being an original and innovative leader, and facing adversity and building resilience. Grant is recognized as one of the world’s 10 most influential management thinkers and was named to Fortune’s 40 under 40 list of top business influencers. His TED talks have been viewed more than 11 million times.

Other presentations will feature top-level industry experts and UB School of Management faculty.

The event is sponsored KeyBank, the UB School of Management Alumni Association, The Martin Group and Hodgson Russ.

What: The “Give and Take” conference will focus on the power of people-oriented leadership — how thinking of others can help you lead and succeed. The event builds upon the success of previous CLOE conferences, which have offered leaders the opportunity to learn about social innovation and entrepreneurship, emerging research and how to put that research into practice in their organizations, and new ways to build collaborations and relationships.

Why: Adam Grant is among the most compelling thinkers on leadership. Backed by rigorous behavioral science, he will share powerful and actionable insights conference attendees can put to work in their organizations.

When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 4.

Where: UB Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, 955 Main St., Buffalo
