BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo School of Management will collaborate to host a screening of the award-winning documentary “Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare” at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 in 100 Allen Hall on UB’s South Campus.

The screening is one of dozens taking place across the United States and Canada that day and throughout the month.

“Escape Fire” tackles one of the most pressing issues of our time: how we can save our badly broken healthcare system. The film explores the nature of the American healthcare system, and contrasts the forces supporting and opposing change through compelling stories of pioneering leaders and patients as they seek care.

Following the film, School of Management alumnus and Dean’s Advisory Council member, Dr. Michael Cropp, president and CEO of Independent Health, will join other Western New York health care leaders in a panel discussion to explore ideas that can stimulate innovation among future leaders and encourage collaboration with community partners.

Pre-registration is not required. If you are unable to attend but would like to submit a question to the panelists, please send your question(s) to Kimberly Rook at krook@buffalo.edu.

The event is presented by the School of Management in collaboration with the UB Office of Interprofessional Education, UB Academic Health Center schools and the UB School of Social Work.

The UB School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on real-world learning, community and economic impact, and the global perspective of its faculty, students and alumni.
