Home > Current Students > Commencement Commencement InformationThe 2010 School of Management undergraduate and graduate student commencement ceremonies will take place at Alumni Arena (North Campus) on Friday, May 7, 2010. Beginning this year, there will be two ceremonies: one for undergraduate students and one for graduate students. The undergraduate ceremony will begin promptly at 1 p.m. and is expected to last until approximately 2:45 p.m. Prospective graduates from the undergraduate program must arrive at the Triple Gym on the ground floor of Alumni Arena at 11:30 a.m. The graduate ceremony will begin promptly at 5 p.m. and is expected to last until approximately 6:45 p.m. Prospective graduates of the graduate programs must arrive at the Triple Gym on the ground floor of Alumni Arena at 3:30 p.m. Registration All prospective graduates seeking to attend the undergraduate or graduate commencement ceremony must register for the ceremony online. Filing an application for degree form is not registering for the commencement ceremony. The online registration will be available on the School of Management Web site beginning in January 2010. Near the end of February 2010, all students eligible to participate in the commencement exercises will be sent information regarding the ceremony and instructed to register via an online form if they wish to attend. It is imperative that students wishing to attend either ceremony register. To ensure prospective graduates are seated and then recognized in alphabetical sequence by degree, registration for the ceremonies must be completed by April 9, 2010. Eligibility Statement Students who have completed all degree requirements (including the timely filing of an application for degree form) for graduation after the 2009 summer session (September 2009) or after the 2009 fall semester (February 2010) or are tentatively scheduled to do so after the 2010 spring semester (June 2010) are eligible to participate in the School of Management commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 7, 2010. If you have not met all the requirements to be on the official graduation list, you still may participate in a School of Management commencement ceremony. This is a two step process. First, please complete a request to "walk through" commencement form, available in the Office of Alumni Relations (150 Jacobs), the undergraduate and graduate academic offices or online (walk through form) and submit the form to the Office of Alumni Relations. Secondly, please fill out the registration for the 2010 commencement ceremony online (see Registration section above). Cap and Gown Beginning in March 2010, bachelor's and master's degree candidates may purchase caps and gowns at the University Book Store, 200 Lee Entrance, North Campus. If you have questions regarding the purchase of caps and gowns, the University Book Store can be contacted by telephone at 716-645-3131. Tickets Tickets for guests are not necessary and graduates may invite as many people as they wish. The doors leading to guest seating in Alumni Arena for the 1 p.m. ceremony will not open before 11:30 a.m. Guests may arrive any time after 11:30 a.m. The doors leading to guest seating in Alumni Arena for the 5 p.m. ceremony will not open before 3:30 p.m. Guests may arrive any time after 3:30 p.m. All guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
