International Practicum

The University at Buffalo School of Management recognizes the unique challenges facing organizations in the 21st century. With School of Management programs in Singapore and Bangalore and partnerships with universities across Europe, our world-class faculty have taught working professionals in countries around the globe. Our MBA programs draw upon these long-standing relationships to underscore the importance of global awareness, providing education that incorporates cross-cultural experiences that translate into sustainable increases to the bottom line.

Starting in January 2011, the School of Management provides students in the Professional MBA program with an opportunity to gain international experience firsthand through a new International Marketing Practicum. Modeled after the very successful Executive MBA international residency, this course helps PMBA students understand and appreciate the strategic marketing issues and tactical considerations needed when conducting business globally. This practicum gives PMBA students a thorough academic framework in class, combined with real-world exposure through onsite visits to finance and high-tech manufacturing organizations in Paris and London.

Whether you are part of a large multinational organization or a small domestic company, you are competing in an ever-changing global business environment. The leaders of tomorrow should have a clear understanding of how international markets impact local conditions. While traveling internationally, professionals enrolled in this unique course will take plant tours and have the opportunity to interview company officials. Students will be expected to produce a project that incorporates what they learned during their European corporate visits.

The International Marketing Practicum will give you a broader perspective of management practices and improve your ability to conduct business globally.
