At the University at Buffalo School of Management, your MBA experience begins before you even set foot in a classroom. During our innovative orientation and professional development sessions, known as MBA Advantage, you will become acquainted with your classmates and begin to familiarize yourself with the team-based learning environment that is the backbone of our curriculum.
You will complete initial assessments of your own strengths and weaknesses and work with the energetic staff of our Career Resource Center to develop a job-search strategy that you will fine-tune as your studies progress. And unlike orientations at most other business schools, MBA Advantage does not end after your first few days on campus. Each semester of your MBA education begins with informative and interactive seminars on such topics as the following:
Through MBA Advantage, you will develop skills that others obtain only through years of corporate experience.
"I learned a lot from the team-building activities during MBA Advantage. One of the most important lessons was that it sometimes takes multiple people to come up with the best solution to a problem. Everyone has a unique perspective. Sharing ideas and working together to refine those ideas is often the key to overcoming challenges quickly and effectively."

"Walking onto the UB campus on the first day of MBA Advantage, I was very uncomfortable in approaching and carrying on a conversation with someone I had never met before. Through the various team-building exercises, guest presenters and social events, the networking skills that were taught and developed have time and again proved to be invaluable throughout my career."
