Walsh is recognized throughout the global business community for her ability to develop unique strategic visions, while coaching and inspiring teams to reach for and realize unified goals. She offers strong leadership that achieves results, which is demonstrated throughout her progressive, 20-year career. Continually building upon her business knowledge, Walsh has diverse management experience in corporate training and development, international business, sales and marketing, higher education, and nonprofit organizations.

Since accepting the challenge of serving as executive director of the Executive MBA (EMBA) program at the University of Buffalo in 1998, Walsh has twice been promoted. In 2002, Walsh was appointed to the position of assistant dean. She currently oversees the EMBA and PMBA programs, corporate training and entrepreneurial programs, with a combined budget of $4+ million. She has achieved success expanding degree-granting and non-credit programs that enroll over 400 executive and professional students annually. Her department continues to grow and provide the ever increasing funds needed to run a world class business school.

As assistant dean, Walsh leverages her business relationships on international, national, and local levels to recruit students, promote corporate training programs, create career opportunities for students, and enhance curriculum. She travels internationally, to such locations as China, Hong Kong, Ireland and Brazil. These ventures offer a wide array of educational, business, and networking opportunities for current and future students. Her clients have included DASNY, Cannon Design, and dozens of individuals who provide products and services to the construction industry.

One of Walsh's greatest strengths is coaching executives to “embrace a new vision.” Through a two-year discovery process, Walsh uses a variety of assessments, with a focus on Emotional Intelligence. She “coaches to the person.” This method allows the executive to identify and utilize their leadership strengths to effect positive change for themselves and their organizations.

The foundation of Walsh's early career was built on her innate talent for establishing and implementing innovative marketing plans that led to corporate branding and increased sales. From 1995 to 1998, she directed the marketing for the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County’s annual $18 million fund drives. Prior to that position, she served as marketing director of Studio Arena Theatre, where she guided a staff of 20 in the creation and launch of annual marketing campaigns that resulted in record breaking season ticket subscriptions. From 1987 to 1991, she began building her long-lasting relationships with corporate clients by serving in various positions for Delaware North Companies, Inc., headquartered in Buffalo, New York.

Walsh is certified in Emotional Intelligence by The Hay Group, in Coaching Leaders using Emotional Intelligence from Case Western and recently completed a certificate program at the University of Chicago in Negotiations. Walsh has received a women’s business award from Business First and was recently awarded a SUNY wide award for Professional Service. In addition to working with several volunteer and professional associations, she is a member and class representative for Leadership Buffalo’s Class of 1997.
