Receiving a scholarship helped Marna pursue challenging dual master’s degrees.
Marna Metcalf’s work in hospice awakened her passion for helping older adults with their health care needs. She decided to pursue a career in health care administration by completing two graduate degrees at UB: a master’s in social work to learn to build community support for older adults, and an MBA from the School of Management.
“I realized an MBA would give me the skills needed to be a leader in the rapidly changing climate of health care and aging,” says Marna, who is grateful for the scholarship she received, which helped pay her tuition. “In the future, I hope to offer others the same thing you have offered me: a chance to succeed.”
