The State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) Singapore Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program is designed to enhance the ability of high-potential executives. With all classes held on the campus of our partner institution, the Singapore Institute of Management, participants earn a UB School of Management MBA degree. Classes are held in intensive, two-week modules at various times throughout the year, and are taught in English by UB professors.

GraduationOur participants learn to lead managers and staff in solving problems of substantial complexity; to work and communicate effectively with other functional managers; to apply modern analytical tools to current problems; to exploit the relationship between business and the external environment; and to motivate associates, develop team skills and achieve success. The UB EMBA is a rigorous academic program for experienced executives who have top management potential. These managers are offered advanced training in a renowned academic environment without career interruption.

In contrast to traditional MBA programs, the Executive MBA places greater emphasis on providing the knowledge and skills appropriate for moving into senior management positions. Participants also benefit from interaction with fellow students who have significant management experience. The EMBA curriculum covers the same basic material as the UB School of Management's full-time MBA program, but the EMBA program is more focused on:

  • The integration of subjects such as the key linkages between accounting, finance, decision methods, marketing, information systems and human resources;
  • The development of essential leadership and team building skills;
  • An understanding of international business and the implications of a rapidly evolving global economy.
