Q. Do I participate in or register for the University Commencement also?
A. No. University Commencement will only award degrees only to undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as all candidates for associate degrees.
Q. I have not completed all the requirements to officially graduate this May. May I still participate in a School of Management commencement ceremony?
A. Yes. Simply submit a request by completing a “walk through” form, available in the Office of Alumni Relations located in 150 Jacobs, or online. In addition to submission of this form, you must also register to attend a School of Management commencement ceremony.
Q. How do I order a cap and gown?
A. Through the University Bookstore, located on the North Campus, beginning March 2010. For out-of-town orders, call 716-645-3131. Credit Cards are accepted. See Cap and Gown information section.
Q. Where do I first report and when?
A. Signs will direct you to the pre-staging area in the Triple Gym of Alumni Arena. All students participating in the undergraduate ceremony must arrive at Alumni Arena at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 7 for the 1 p.m. ceremony. All students participating in the graduate ceremony must arrive at Alumni Arena at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7 for the 5 p.m. ceremony.
Q. Will further instructions be received by students who have registered to participate?
A. A letter including further details will be mailed in late April to all registered students.
Q. Is handicapped seating available for guests in wheelchairs?
A. Yes, handicapped seating is available. Elevators are located in the first hallway on the right when entering the main entrance of Alumni Arena. There will be ushers on site to help facilitate seating in the special reserved handicapped seating sections. Important Note: Due to limited seating in handicapped areas, only one family member is allowed to sit with the individual requiring wheelchair handicapped seating. The rest of the family will be asked to take seats in the regular seating sections.
Q. Do we need to make prior requests for handicapped seating?
A. No, once you arrive on site, ask any of the ushers to assist you in being seated.
Q. Are tickets required?
A. No. Alumni Arena has sufficient seating capacity to accommodate as many family members (guests) as you wish to invite.
Q. Where can I find information for assisting my family and friends in making travel arrangements such as travel directions, hotel or motel information, or dining in the Buffalo area?

Q. If I want to make dinner reservations for my family after the commencement exercises, what time should I make those reservations?
A. Allow approximately one hour and 45 minutes for the ceremony and another 15-30 minutes to get off campus and to your restaurant of choice. Therefore, don’t make reservations before 3:30 p.m. for the 1 p.m. ceremony and 7:30 p.m. for the 5 p.m. ceremony.
Q. Where can my family, friends, and relatives find parking for the commencement ceremony?
A. Parking will be available in all of the parking lots across campus, including all faculty, staff and student lots. Parking lots closest to Alumni Arena include, but are not limited to, Lake La Salle Lot (behind the Center for the Arts building), Alumni Lot, Arena Lot, and Slee and Baird Lots. Keep in mind that there will be many other ceremonies taking place on North campus this weekend, so be sure to arrive with plenty of time to find parking. Handicap parking will be available; information will be provided at the drop off area in front of Alumni Arena prior to the ceremony.
Q. Can I purchase a DVD of the School of Management commencement?

Q. Will there be a professional photographer at the School of Management commencement?
A. Yes. GradImages™ is the contracted photography studio. Proofs will be mailed to each student about one week following the commencement ceremony. All questions or inquiries must be made to the photography studio at 1-800-261-2576 or click here.
