Research

Dr. Hamlen's work focuses on applied topics in economics and the economics of finance. His current research includes work on economics of superstardom. This occurs when increases in ability lead to more than proportional increases in remuneration. He is also working on the economics involved in revenue sharing used by the National Football League. His current work in financial economics is on optimal portfolio selection as a function of ability and effort.
