Dr. Southwick's interests are in the area of applied microeconomics. He is widely published in education economics, medical and legal economics, public policy, and the economics of local governments. He is author of a text, Managerial Economics. For 20 years, Dr. Southwick served as Councilman and later for 4 years as Comptroller of the Town of Amherst, a community of more than 110,000 people. He also is frequently an economic consultant in tort cases.
