Accounting Advisory Councils

Beta Alpha Psi Alumni Leadership Council

This council, consisting of accounting alumni who as students held leadership positions in Beta Alpha Psi, provides advice and guidance to the current membership of the Zeta Theta Chapter. 

Mission

The objective of the Alumni Advisory Council shall be to maintain relationships with the Zeta Theta Chapter and provide guidance to support the objectives of promoting the study and practice of professional fields related to accounting, finance and information systems, provide opportunities for self development and association among members and practicing financial professionals and to encourage a sense of ethical, social and public responsibilities.

New York City Accounting Alumni Leadership Council

The council is comprised of alumni of UB's accounting programs who pursue their careers in the Tri-State region.

Mission

The mission of the New York City Accounting Alumni Leadership Council is to be goodwill ambassadors for the UB School of Management and Department of Accounting and Law, and to support and promote the interests of the school and department in the Metropolitan New York area.

This council is involved with three events during the year:

  • An annual summer mixer, organized and sponsored by the Council, is held in August, just before the new academic year begins. All current accounting students and alumni interested in or currently working in the tri-state area are invited. The event allows students and alumni to network and connect with the school and the department.
  • Council members attend Network New York, the New York City winter recruiting event sponsored by the Career Resource Center and the School of Management Alumni Association. The council holds its meeting just prior to this event. Visit the Career Resource Center Web site for more information.
  • The council partners with the School of Management Alumni Association for its annual May meeting. The council meeting is held just prior to this event.
