The gap between data analysis and effective communication of results keeps growing. This presentation provides an overview for how to bridge the gap by turning basic charts into a compelling story. Being able to analyze data and tell stories with the results is key to transforming data into information that can be used to drive better decision making.

Dianna Cichocki, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor of management science and systems in the UB School of Management, where she teaches Statistical Decisions in Management (undergraduate), Statistical Foundations in Analytics (Professional MBA) and Model Managerial Process (Executive MBA). In addition to teaching, she has offered workshops/presentations at the local, state and national levels concerning effective use of Microsoft Excel and best practices in data visualization. Recent local companies include Materion, Moog, McGard LLC, M&T Bank, New Era Cap, Fresenius Kabi USA, ABC-Amega Inc. and Rupp Baase Pfalzgraf Cunningham LLC.
