The Department of Management Science and Systems in the UB School of Management focuses on the design, development and use of information systems to make organizations deliver better value to its stakeholders in an ever-evolving economy. With a world-class faculty, we strive to give students a distinct advantage by offering innovative courses and programs to create academic and industry leaders who will shape the world in which we live.
As part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program, the School of Management offers a concentration in Management Information Systems. Students take courses designed to build not only technical skills but also soft skills that are critical in today’s workplace.
The Master of Science in Management Information Systems focuses on the application of computer-related technology to managerial programs. There is a heavy technical component in the coursework, but the program also provides students with the broad perspective needed to advance in their managerial careers.
The Master of Science in Management of IT-Enabled Services is offered jointly by the UB School of Management and Amrita University in partnership with Hewlett-Packard for Information Technology (IT) and IT-Enabled Services (ITES) executives at HP in Bangalore and Chennai.

The goal of the school’s PhD in Management is to create researchers who will change the world we live in by their contributions in the area of their dissertations, and teachers who will shape the lives of the next generation. We offer two tracks related to Management Science and Systems.
The Hsinchun Chen and Hsaio-Hui Chow Scholarship was established in 2010 for undergraduate students in the management information systems concentration by Hsinchun Chen, MBA ’85, and Hsiao-Hui Chow, PhD ’89 (School of Pharmacy). Read more.
