The School of Management's Project Management Certificate Program offers participants the chance to learn current, effective techniques in meeting the challenges that face Project Managers. Project Management Certificate Program participants will gain an understanding of the competencies involved in successfully planning and managing a project. The course will include instruction and practical exercises involving the management of project attributes such as scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, procurement and integration.
Course Objectives
By the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Generate project requirements and criteria for evaluating project success
• Create a work breakdown structure with specifications
• Design a project schedule with activities, durations and interdependencies
• Delineate, assign and track project resources and associated costs
• Identify and quantify project risk and develop mitigation strategies
• Understand different contract types and their impact on a project
• Identify, capture and analyze metrics used in controlling a project
• Understand the leadership competencies of successful project managers
• Understand how to build successful project teams or deal with issues affecting their performance
Who Should Attend
Project managers, program managers and project team members who are interested in gaining a better understanding of Project Management and methods for improving the quality of their environments. Novice managers in the field will greatly benefit from this program. This course is NOT intended as complete preparation for the PMI's PMP certification. However, this course will enhance the understanding and applicability of the major aspects associated with Project Management.
