Through a series of presentations and discussions with regional and national health care leaders and experts, participants can gain a strategic understanding of the major trends and transformations taking place in health care at the national and regional levels. We will introduce participants to the concept of creating innovation in health care through Idealized Design and application of Lean and Total Quality methodologies and tools. The program will culminate with giving participants a proven framework for leading effective change in the complex and dynamic environment of health care that addresses the cognitive (mind), motivational (heart), and process (path) components of effective change.
This new course is a non-degree executive program for managers, executives, and health care professionals with responsibility for or aspiring to assume roles that involve leading transformation and change in health care.
This module will use a series of presentations and discussions with health care leaders and experts to provide participants with a strategic understanding of the major trends and transformations taking place in health care. The first session will focus on large-scale strategic issues facing health care and their implications for change and will feature health care leaders and experts including:

This module will introduce participants to the concept of creating innovation in health care through applying the concept of Idealized Design and application of Lean and Total Quality methodologies and tools. The module will be delivered by Gerald Suarez, Professor of the Practice, Systems Thinking and Design, University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
