MBA Advantage Schedule

A complete MBA Advantage schedule will be available electronically at the beginning of August.

Calendar Impact: All UB MBAs are required to attend all Advantage sessions. Please plan your arrival calendar accordingly, based on the above dates. We will update this page on a regular basis, so please check back frequently for potential changes.

Billing Impact: There will be an MBA Advantage Fee of $1,300 US on your First Semester Tuition and Fees bill from the University. This fee will cover your entire two years’ worth of MBA Advantage. There will be no additional MBA Advantages. Please plan your funding accordingly.

Friday, August 9 (International Students Only)

Alfiero Center (UB North Campus)

Acclimating to the U.S. and UB, MBA Academic Advisement and additional sessions.

Monday, August 12 (International Students Only)
 
8:30 a.m. -  5 p.m.
Niagara Falls (meet at Alfiero Center)

Morning: Meet at Alfiero and board bus to Niagara Falls: Tour will include Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist
Afternoon: Students are their own for lunch and shopping at Niagara Falls Outlet Mall (bus will bring students back to Alfiero around 4 p.m.)

Attire: Casual (Sneakers and shorts or pants, no heels. Rain ponchos and light weight sandals provided on site. Do not bring laptops.)

Tuesday, August 13 (International and New-to-UB Students Only)

Career Resource Center programming, academic advising, and campus scavenger hunt.

Wednesday, August 14
8 a.m. (Buses leave from Alfiero Center)

Holiday Valley   

Morning (inside): Welcome
Afternoon (outside): Team building activities
Evening (outside): Free time, dinner and bonfire 

Attire: Casual

Accommodations: Inn at Holiday Valley (rooms area already reserved and students will be assigned - two students per room)

Transportation: Students have the option to take a bus from Alfiero parking lot (UB North Campus) to and from Holiday Valley or arrange own transportation and meet there. In your MBA Advantage registration survey you will be asked to indicate one of the options of transportation.

Thursday, August 15

Morning (outside): MBA Academic Advising and team-building activities
Afternoon (inside): CareerLeader Review 

Attire: Casual

Transportation: Buses will leave Holiday Valley around 4 p.m. to return back to Alfiero Center.

Buffalo Niagara Marriott (across from north campus)

Morning: Resume/career session
Afternoon: Professional workshop, career concentration sessions and professional student photos taken
Closing: Student/alumni reception

Afternoon: Accounting Boot Camp and optional RESUMANIA

Involved with United Way Day of Caring (Volunteerism and Giving back). More information to follow.

Students choose from various mini-informational sessions throughout the day and the last sessions is Accounting Boot Camp .

LeaderLAUNCH: Accelerating Onboarding of New UB Graduates
Final semester of MBA program

In collaboration with hiring managers and recent graduates, LeaderLAUNCH gives graduating MBAs a career advantage by focusing on skills that are highly correlated with new-hire onboarding success.  It also introduces students to their new roles as alumni, volunteers, donors and ambassadors.
