The School of Management Commencement Ceremonies:
Friday, May 13, 2016 - Graduate Ceremony 5 p.m. - Alumni
Saturday, May 14, 2016 - Undergraduate Ceremony 10 a.m. - Alumni Arena
A. No. University Commencement will only award degrees to undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as all candidates for associate degrees.
A. For information on how to obtain a gold cord, please visit the School of Management commencement information page.
A. Yes. If you have not met all the requirements to be on
the official graduation list, you still may participate in a School
of Management commencement ceremony. Registration is required
to participate in either ceremony. Online registration will be
available via the School of Management website starting
January 2016. If you do not register you will not be eligible
to participate in the ceremony. If you are not officially
graduating in September 2015, February 2016 or June 2016 your name
will not appear in the printed May 2016 commencement
A. Caps and gowns can be ordered through the University Bookstore, located on the North Campus, beginning March 2016. For out-of-town orders, call 716-636-6290 (ext. 19 or 25). Credit Cards are accepted. For more information, see the commencement information section.
A. Signs will direct you to the pre-staging area in the Edward Wright Practice Facility of Alumni Arena. All students participating in the graduate ceremony must arrive at Alumni Arena at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13 for the 5 p.m. ceremony. All students participating in the undergraduate ceremony must arrive at Alumni Arena at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14 for the 10 a.m. ceremony.
A. An email including additional details will be sent in late April to all registered students.
A. When you register online to participate in one of the School of Management commencement ceremonies, simply note your possible need for special accommodations. You will be contacted by a staff member who will discuss and finalize your accommodations.
A. Visit the Access page regarding accommodations for guests
with disabilities. A limited number of wheelchairs will be
available at the Guest Services desk inside the Coventry doors of
Alumni Arena, to transport guests from Coventry Loop to the
designated seating areas at top of 100-level and between the 200
and 300 seating levels. These wheelchairs cannot be used by guests
to sit in during the ceremony. We strongly encourage guests who
need wheelchairs to supply their own. This is especially crucial in
case of an emergency evacuation.

A. No. Alumni Arena has sufficient seating capacity to accommodate as many family members (guests) as you wish to invite.
A. No. Baby strollers cannot be brought into Alumni Arena.
A. You may request a letter of invitation for family members by contacting the appropriate Student Services Office. If you are an undergraduate student please stop by 204 Alfiero or email the office at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are a graduate student you can stop by 203 Alfiero or email the office at email@example.com. Please indicate if you are an undergraduate or graduate student in your email.
A. For assistance in making a trip to the University at Buffalo and metro Buffalo enjoyable, click the Visiting UB page has specific and individualized arrangements ranging from travel to restaurants to lodging to site-seeing. A general map of the UB North Campus is also available [PDF].
A. Allow approximately one hour and 45 minutes for each ceremony and another 15-30 minutes to get off campus and to your restaurant of choice. Therefore, do not make reservations before 7:30 p.m. for the 5 p.m. graduate ceremony on Friday, May 13. For the undergraduate ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. do not make reservations before 11:30 a.m.
A. Parking will be available in all of the parking lots across campus, including all faculty, staff and student lots. Parking lots closest to Alumni Arena include, but are not limited to, Lake La Salle Lot (behind the Center for the Arts building), Alumni Lot, Arena Lot, and Slee and Baird Lots. Keep in mind that there will be many other ceremonies taking place on North campus this weekend, so be sure to arrive with plenty of time to find parking. Handicap parking will be available; information will be provided at the drop off area in front of Alumni Arena prior to the ceremony.
A. Yes. GradImages™ will take individual photographs of each graduate attending commencement. Visit the GradImages page and click on Pre-Event Registration to receive $5 OFF on orders of $25 or more just by registering your information with GradImages™ prior to commencement. Proofs will be mailed to each student about one week following the commencement ceremony. All questions or inquiries must be made to GradImages™ at 1-800-261-2576.
A. This ceremony will be streamed LIVE, online (see Live Coverage section at: commencement.buffalo.edu/video.php). After commencement weekend, a video link will be posted online for POST-ceremony viewing (see 2015 video section at: commencement.buffalo.edu/video.php).
