  • Minority High School Students Gain Career Insights

    The School of Management and the Foundation for Accounting Education of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants collaborate each year to introduce minority high school students to accounting career opportunities during a five-day Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession Program (COAP).

  • Community Agencies Access Educational Technology

    The School of Management helps community agencies reduce costs, extend their reach and enhance their training and education programs using digital video technology. This innovative educational technology and the expertise of Natalie Simpson, associate professor of operations management and strategy, are available to agencies in partnership with the Not For Profit Resource Center, an initiative of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County.

  • Entrepreneurship Training for High School Students

    The School of Management and the Meszaros International Center of Entrepreneurship are partnering to give students from Western New York high schools the opportunity to explore the realm of self-employment and its complexities.

  • Teaching Teens Financial Responsibility

    In partnership with M&T Bank, the School of Management trains teacher in Western New York high schools to use MoneySKILL, a comprehensive, internet-based personal finance curriculum, developed by Lewis Mandell, professor emeritus of finance and managerial economics, in collaboration with the American Financial Services Association Education Foundation.

  • Free Tax Preparation for Low-Income Families

    Nearly 200 low-income families and individuals received free income tax preparation services from IRS-certified accounting students. Students from UB’s Zeta Theta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national honor society for accounting and finance students, managed neighborhood tax preparation sites on UB's North and South Campuses.
