What is the Advanced CEL Program?

Purpose
The Advanced CEL Program will provide participants with the knowledge and tools to write and execute a GAP (Goal Action Plan) to include both personal and business goals. Advanced CEL works on the "whole" person rather than just the business. This GAP will be briefly reviewed by the class at each session.

When and Where
The program runs from September through June. Sessions will be held at the Jacobs Executive Development Center (JEDC) on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 3 - 6 pm. The program will kick off with a strategic retreat on September 8th & 9th at Beaver Hollow Conference Center, Java Center, NY.

Class Structure
Classes will be limited to 10 participants consisting of business owners or business leaders from diverse industries. Participants must sign confidentiality agreements and must be committed to attend the entire program. Competitors from the same industry will not be allowed in the same class.

Eligibility Requirements
Participants of the program must be CEL CORE Program graduates. Business owners and business leaders who are currently involved in an active, growing/expanding business will be considered. The selection criteria will include a variety of factors such as company size, years in operation, number of employees, goals for growth and the financial stability of the enterprise

Pre-Retreat Preparation
Each participant will participate in an assessment analysis prior to the retreat.

Orientation/Retreat
A strategic retreat will be held on September 8th & 9th at Beaver Hollow Conference Center. This retreat will run concurrently with the CEL CORE Program Retreat.

Strategic Conversations
Several Classes will be dedicated to the participants introducing their businesses to each other. One Strategic Conversation Session will be held each month where participants in the program will have one hour to discuss the goals of their companies, their challenges and their opportunities The facilitator will work with members of the class to critique each presenter, and group discussions will take place for the remaining hour of each session.

Strategic Content Session
Strategic Content Sessions will be held throughout the program. These sessions will include:

  • Executive Summaries: Reading and discussion of current hot topics with theme assigned prior to session.
  • Presentations and panel discussions from a selection of both local and national industry leaders.
  • Inspirational 'next level or site' visits of highly successful WNY companies
