Through our Member Rewards program, members may be awarded free tickets to upcoming events, grants for professional development, donations to a charity of choice, trips back to campus and more. Member rewards are available only to School of Management Alumni Association members. If you are not a member, join now. Each spring, the UB School of Management Alumni Association office contacts members via e-mail, inviting them to take part in this annual program, which includes distribution of the following rewards: Education GrantAs a member of the UB School of Management Alumni Association, you may apply for a tuition grant with a minimum award of $500 for yourself or for a member of your immediate family. This grant can be applied toward any University at Buffalo educational program (credit-bearing or non-credit-bearing) from any UB academic unit (Management, Law, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, etc.). If you are interested in learning more, please contact the School of Management Alumni Association by e-mail, providing your e-mail address and telephone number. See the 2009 winners at Education Grant winners.pdf [PDF] Grants to Not-for-Profit OrganizationsAs a member of the UB School of Management Alumni Association, a $100 donation in your honor will be made to a not-for-profit organization where you serve on the board of directors. If you wish to compete for one of the five available grants, simply send an e-mail explaining in 250 words or less why your chosen organization deserves this grant. Include in your statement the name of the organization, the name of its president or executive director, its full address, employer identification number (EIN) and telephone number, as well as your role with the organization. To be eligible for these grants the organization must be a 501(c) (3) organization. All submissions are reviewed by a panel of School of Management Alumni Association board members. See the 2009 winners at Not for profit winners.pdf [PDF] Grants for Professional Development/Continuing EducationFor personal and professional enrichment, the UB School of Management Alumni Association will award two grants of up to $250 each for members to pursue continuing education, professional development or other similar programs. If you wish to compete for one of these grants, simply send an e-mail explaining in 250 words or less what the program is (be specific and include the fee or charge) and why you wish to enroll. All submissions are reviewed by a panel of School of Management Alumni Association board members. 2009 winners: Martin Mlodozeniec '97 and Beth Stefani, EdM'81, MBA'89. Travel Grant for UB Bulls PackageThe UB School of Management Alumni Association will award two grants for members of up to $250 each for travel and lodging to return to Buffalo to attend a UB Bulls football game in the School of Management’s box in the university stadium. Two complimentary game tickets will be included with each travel grant. Game dates are to be mutually agreed upon in accordance with the UB Bulls football schedule. If you wish to apply for one of these grants, simply send an e-mail explaining in 250 words or less why you wish to return to Buffalo to attend a UB football game. All submissions are reviewed by a panel of School of Management Alumni Association board members. This grant is primarily intended for alumni residing outside the Western New York area. 2009 wnners: Jeffrey Kraut '82 and Paul Stewart '79. Entertainment Grant for an “Among Friends Dinner”The UB School of Management Alumni Association will provide funding of up to $250 per event for a member to host an “Among Friends Dinner,” to include up to 10 alumni from your area. This grant should be used to bring together School of Management alumni from a common geographic area to share opportunities and camaraderie. If you wish to receive funding to host an “Among Friends Dinner,” simply send an e-mail explaining in 250 words or less your interest. Please include the city or town in which you wish to hold the dinner and whether you would like to hold it at a restaurant or in your home. All submissions are reviewed by a panel of School of Management Alumni Association board members.
