Release Date: August 15, 2017

BUFFALO, N.Y. — John Galiski, an expert on forensic accounting and fraud investigations, will return to his alma mater, the University at Buffalo School of Management, to speak from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the Center for Tomorrow on UB’s North Campus.

Presented by the school’s Helen and Oscar Sufrin Lectureship in Accounting, Galiski’s talk will be free and open to the public.

A director at AlixPartners, Galiski, BS/MBA ’92, guides companies through complex corporate investigations, financial forensics, interim management appointments, purchase price disputes and other accounting and financial issues. Galiski, a CPA and certified fraud examiner, works with clients across North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Among his varied experience, Galiski has led an investigation, under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, into a U.S.- and China-based Fortune 500 firm and presented his findings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition, he has performed forensic reviews of a Swiss bank’s client databases and control procedures, investigated anonymous allegations of fraud and money laundering for a leading e-commerce solutions supplier, and examined historical accounting and contractual data for an aircraft management company.

The free lecture will include refreshments and will be followed by Q&A. Reservations are required by Sept. 25 and can be made at http://bit.ly/sufrin17registration. For more information, contact Janet Kiefer at kiefer@buffalo.edu or 716-645-3290.
