Prosperity Scholarships available for School of Management students

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Juniors, seniors and MBA students in the University at Buffalo School of Management who complete credit-bearing internships in Western New York may be eligible to apply for the Western New York Prosperity Scholarship program.

The 12-month academic scholarships are designed to cover students’ unmet costs to attend UB and complete summer internships at leading companies across a variety of industries throughout the region.

Last year’s average award amount was $21,000 at the graduate level and $12,000 for undergraduates. Of the 103 Prosperity Scholarships granted to UB over the past five years, 50 were awarded to School of Management students.

Prosperity Scholarships also are available to juniors and seniors across programs as well as select graduate programs in the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Established by the Prentice Family Foundation in 2009, the Prosperity Scholarship program seeks to support and encourage young, talented professionals interested in making a positive impact on the Western New York economy to stay in the region after graduation.

The application deadline for this year’s program has been extended to Feb. 19.
