Workshop Requirements

If you would like to participate in on-campus recruitment, you must complete the required workshops. Some workshops are offered in a digital format while others are available in a live version only. Space is limited for all live required workshops and sign up is required. Sign up sheets are posted in the Career Resource Center in 308 Alfiero Center.

  • Undergraduate Students:  If you are taking MGG 300 you are not required to attend these workshops. All material is covered in the MGG 300 course.
  • MBA Students:  The Advanced Interviewing Skills workshop is required for all MBAs (even if you have completed the MGG 300 course).
  • MS Students:  Résumé Writing and Basic Interviewing workshops are required if you have not completed the MGG 300 course at UB. The Advanced Interviewing Skills workshop is required for all MS students (even if you have completed the MGG 300 course).
  • International Graduate Students:  Advanced Interviewing Skills and all International workshops are required for all international graduate students.

Workshops

Résumé Writing
Whether your résumé is complete or you are just beginning your first draft, this workshop will help you become aware of the important features of an American-style résumé.
Basic Interviewing
Whether you are trying to secure an internship or your first professional position, this workshop provides job seekers with fundamental tools to prepare for any interview.
Advanced Interviewing
A job interview is a critical stage of the hiring process. Preparing for a variety of interview situations and knowing what to expect is essential to success.
Job Search Correspondence
This CRC workshop presents candidates with guidelines to write effective job search correspondences that are clear and concise.
Making the Most of Career Fairs
Learn tips and strategies for making the most of any job fair. Students will know what to do before, during and after the job fair and stand out from the field of potential candidates for all of the right reasons.
International
International graduate students will be required to attend all workshops. Note that these workshops are only offered in the fall semester.
